Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

It has been a rather rocky start to the semester, but everything has been smoothed over. My schedule has been worked out, and everything is falling into place. Well since I didn't make wind ensemble that freed me up to be in motion picture production, which is ultimately what I want to do with my life. I hate that I will not be playing my trumpet this semester, but it is great that this opportunity opened up. The way this whole schedule has worked out this year, starting with AMM2, to the dance class I needed fitting perfectly. Oh my goodness, I'm so excited for a great semester. I love the part I got in the children's show and can't wait to crew Six Characters. It will be a very exciting year.

It's good to be back.

I love being back at Ouachita. It has been so good to see all of my friends, and get back into the swing of things. Um, well I quit band. This will be the first year in 8 years that I have not been in band. I don't know how I feel about it. I just didn't have time to do marching band, and I was not put in wind ensemble. I really hate that I'm not going to see the rest of the trumpet section very often now, because I love them all so much. Oh well, it really can't be helped. Lynley and I have almost got the room completely finished. We still have some pictures to hang, but we will have to wait until Wal Mart gets those velcrom 3m picture strip things.

I have gotten a creative bug today. I think I will paint something to go in our living room. Should be fun. I love doing stuff like that! Also, I bought Ingrid Michaelson's new album today. It was $8 on iTunes! That made me really happy.

Classes start tomorrow. I don't really want to start class, but I need to get back in the habit of balancing the academic with the fun!

I finished packing up my stuff tonight. I never realize how much stuff I have until I have to pack it up to go to school,and I always have no idea how this stuff fits in a dorm room. I'm ready to get there tomorrow and start setting up. Ready to make Maddox 407/409 home. I love my family, a lot, but it's time for a break. They way my mother gives me step by step instructions when I'm home makes me wonder how I ever survive at school without her there! (Note the sarcasm) We are leaving entirely too early, but I'll get over it. It's been a very long day. I'm going to bed. Goodnight all.

Football season already?

Oh gees. It's football season. As much as I like to watch football games in person, I really don't like watching them on t.v. That means no matter how interesting other television shows may be, football will always be on my house's t.v. Sick. For instance, there is a FRIENDS marathon on, but what are we watching? Football. Ugh. I will say however, in football's defense, I am excited to go to the OBU games this year.

I am almost completely packed for OBU. All I have left is my clothes, and picture frames. I will finish them tomorrow. I would have done it all today, but last night I came down with a rather harsh migraine, and it lasted all night, and all day today. So, since I didn't sleep at all last night I slept quite a bit today.

Tomorrow: Finish packing, pack car, friend's birthday party, and then lots of sleep. The end!

It's a new year :)

So I really hope I can keep up with this. I really enjoy spilling my thoughts out to my computer every night, when I remember to. Well, I move back to OBU on Saturday. I really can't wait. It's going to be a great year. A new suite, new classes, new friends, and new opportunities. I have lived with the same roommate for two years, and she recently got married to a great guy. It was a beautiful wedding, and I wish them all the best. I now will be living with someone new. I will have to get used to it, but I can only imagine that it will be great! She is a great person, and so much fun. I'm so excited to get started and get closer to new and old friends. I'm glad I will get to do new things with the theatre department. They are an awesome group of people. They are family. Seeing everyone again will be so exciting. I keep getting more and more excited about it as I type! Tomorrow will be a day of packing and getting everything together.
